PP Activities and Projects

Q-Tours

The PP organised activities to initiate the inaugural opening of the AMQF new building. These included the Q-Tours to the new building. Four tours were organised for teachers and partner institutions between November 2016 and March 2017. In this context, artist Amer Shomali designed promotional material for the Q-Tours (bags and T-shirts) to be presented to visitors. A brochure on the new building facilities were distributed. Books published by the AMQF were showcased.

Picture Book

The idea of the AMQF Picture Book was initiated by the PP Director. Needed materials are collected from AMQF programmes, based on the AMQF photo archive which spans over 20 years of cultural and educational contributions. The Picture Book shows the AMQF’s valuable contribution to the cultural scene.

Animation Film on AMQF New Building

The PP is producing an animation film on the AMQF new building facilities and its green architecture. Featuring the activities implemented by the AMQF, the film will be screened in the new building lobby on wall display screens and in other media. Basel Nasr and Ahmad Saleh of the Masna’ al-Rusum al-Mutahrrikah made a presentation to the AMQF Management Committee about the idea of the film. Towards September 2017, the film will be in the final stage of animatics development.

Q-Residency

The Q-Residency programme was activated to host international and local artists, academics, intellectuals, actors and collectives at the Qattan Guest House inside and outside the AMQF building. Residents contribute to working with the PP and other AMQF programmes and partners in line with the seasonal directions and goals of proposed programmes and projects. In November 2016, the PP hosted Jonathan Watkins, exhibition curator and director of IKON Gallery. Watkins curated a workshop and exhibition with 13 young artists and curators, who were invited through an open call. Held between 18 November and 8 December 2016, the exhibition We are Moving was showcased as the final product of the workshop at Khalil Sakakini Cultural Centre.
