Centre for Educational Research & Development

Challenges

There is also a number of challenges that QCERD will have to overcome:

  • Promoting team spirit, focusing on cooperation and positivity, and building kind, humane and productive relationships;
  • Enhancing the quality and content of our programmes in a way that takes into account their expansion, and the need to reach more teachers;
  • Employing available financial resources in the most efficient way possible;
  • Employing administrative, research, technical, coordinative and formative capacities in the best possible way;
  • Creating jobs to accompany the Centre’s growth including full-time and part-time jobs, project-based jobs (similar to jobs in the technical and scientific administration, as well as research jobs, etc.);
  • Facing the challenges due to the increase in the number of teachers who engage with their peers either as instructors, coaches or partners, within the teachers’ development programmes;
  • Maximising the use of technology and  multimedia in the applied research work of QCERD, and in the scientific, educational and cultural content presented to teachers in training;
  • Maintaining high quality in spite of the increasing workload;
  • Providing suitable environments for all staff members to enhance their work by empowering them within projects, or through specific external programmes;
  • Dedicating time, effort and resources for intersecting projects such as the Jenin Child Centre, the Interactive Science Centre, Nilin Teachers’ Centre and the Foundation’s new building, among others;
  • Providing the flexibility necessary for urgent activities and circumstances, and considering all potentially required adjustments and alternatives;
  • Encouraging distinguished teachers to develop their capacities to pursue higher education, and support QCERD’s work in the future.
